Aquarium Volume Calculator — Shrimp Tanks

Instant volume for rectangular and cylindrical tanks, with substrate and hardscape taken off so you see the true usable water volume for dosing and water changes.

Building a shrimp paradise or a calm nano community? Accurate dosing starts with knowing your real water volume. Glass dimensions don’t tell the whole story: substrate and hardscape displace water, so conditioners, fertilizers and meds should be calculated from what’s left in the water column. This calculator subtracts the footprint of your chosen substrate depth (using front and back depths) and then removes a percentage for rock and wood to give a realistic, shrimp-safe number.

Pick a substrate type and we’ll estimate how many kilograms you’ll need based on common bulk densities used by aquarists.
